Your route will bring you to visit one of the most remarkable castles in the Chianti area
, a land famous all over the world both for its past and wine. There you will get to the Castle of Montefioralle
, an ancient fortress that still nowadays keeps a particular glamour in the village.
Then we will continue visiting the village of Castellina in Chianti
, a place that it is a symbol of Chianti. Then you will visit the farm called Fattoria Rocca delle Macie
, famous for its wines and their tasting at Riserva di Fizzano
You may have your lunch in a typical restaurant in the Chianti area, located inside of an ancient castle called Castle of Fonteruotoli
. In the afternoon you may visit the village of Gaiole in Chianti
and the Castle of Brolio
This castle has a Longobard origin. Its past has become remarkable since XII c. It belongs - still nowadays - to the powerful family named Ricasoli
. The castle is set in the middle of endless vineyards, producing wine since 1141. A wine that Ricasoli keeps in cellars inside the powerful walls.
You may have dinner at Restaurant Giusti
in the village called localitÓ Montanino

2nd ROUTE: Montalcino
Leaving from Villa di Moriano
, the route will pass through the village of Montalcino
, the world core for wine. Here "Brunello" is produced, one of the most famous and appreciated wine all over the world. A particular impression is given also by the walls that surrounded the village.
You may visit Biondi Santi estates
, a really prestigious brand all over the world. Many of the bottles of wine produced in these cellars are part of important collecting. There you may have the chance to taste wine and visit the cellars. You may have lunch on your own or in a typical Tuscan Restaurant inside the wall s of Montalcino
The route will continue visiting another important brand of "Brunello
", the Castle of Banfi
, with visiting the castle and the Museum of Glass
. You will have the opportunity to taste wine and visit cellars.
You may have dinner at the Restaurant da Cristiano
located in Figline Valdarno
where Cristiano, a rewarded cook who participated also at "Uno Mattina", a RAI TV Programme, will personally cook for you great Tuscan specialities at a high level.
3rd ROUTE: Valdisieve
This route concerns a less-famous part of Tuscany, but always very important for the producing of wine. Indeed, in Valdisieve
area, DOCG Chianti Rufina
and DOC Pomino are produced. Two different wines in taste and peculiarities but both known and appreciated for centuries. Chianti Rufina is the smallest part of the seven Chianti areas and it is known for its special quality of ageing: in particular growing years or with high grape selections, it may age up to 30 years or more. This route offers the opportunity to have a look at cellars of some farms.
You may visit the Museum of vineyard and wine, in Villa di Poggio Reale di Rufina
. Then, you will visit the Castle of Pomina, built in 1500 by Albizi
and now owned by Marchesi Frescobaldi
. The farm has great and famous cellars and a storage place for Vin Santo (i.e. wine made from grapes dried on straw mats over the winter to concentrate flavours). Then you may continue visiting the Castle of Nipozzano, a fortress since XI c. of Counts Guidi XI that at the end of 1300 it was remarkable rebuilt by a Florentine family named Albizi. Today it is a Marchesi Frescobaldi's belonging. You may also visit Pieve di S. Margherita a Tosina
